About Me

Hello!

My name is Emma, but a lot of people call me Em! I am 24 years old, I live in Liverpool, England!

I often sit and wonder where my love of reading came from and I still have no idea, I just remember when I was a little girl that my mum took me to the local library and from then on I was obsessed, I started to beg her to take me to the library every Saturday until it became a regular thing. I swear I must of read almost every book in that little place! I started off with things like the Funnybones books and The Famous Five, then moving onto Jacqueline Wilson and Harry Potter as I got older. During my early teenage years I stopped reading, not by choice but just because I was growing up and lost interest in books. Then at 16 I chose to study A Level English Literature and at the same time picked up Looking for Alaska by John Green and my love for books came flooding back and I’ve been stuck in books ever since!

Although I work full time and don’t have as much time as I’d like to read I still read whenever I can. I will read on the bus to and from work, find a spot in the city centre to read on my lunch break and curl up in bed of a night with my book to carry on and read myself to sleep. As soon as I have to put my book down I am already wondering what will happen next, most of the time creating my own next page in my head.

I started my blog in 2013, as I had so many thoughts on the books that I had read and wanted to share them with people, with the hope that I can help those that read them decide on their next book or even find their new favourite book. As an aspiring author myself I wanted to be able to help new and upcoming authors get their name out there by reviewing their debut or current novels.

My favourite book is One Day by David Nicholls, closely followed by The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I also adore the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. I adore romantic chic-lit novels, anything with a good love story, proposal, wedding etc, count me in! I am also starting to read a few crime/thriller novels but I still have to research them a little before I read them, but hey, what’s the point reading if you aren’t going to enjoy it? Some of my favourite authors are David Nicholls, John Green, Mhari McFarlane, Jojo Moyes and Sophie Kinsella, I’ll stop there because I could go on forever naming them.

As well as books I have a passion for baking and I’m a huge animal lover! If I had the money, I would love to have my own cafĂ© selling my homemade cakes and buy a big house so I start my own animal sanctuary

I am sure that is way much more information than you wanted to know, so happy reading!
